Butterfinger Cheesecake
Please enjoy this throw-back recipe. One of my favorites! I might be a wee-bit obsessed. With cheesecake, of all things. Which, actually is a GOOOOOD thing, but really, why can’t I be obsessed with Kale? Or Flax Seed? Or Chickpeas? (I don’t know – those are the first three healthy-like things that popped into my cheesecake-obsessed head.) This cheesecake, you guys – it’s awesome. It’s easy. It goes together in no time, and you can change it up with your favorite add-ins, toppings, and crust.…

Pumpkin BTS Cake
Note: This is a throw-back post, but so popular that everyone needs to see it again. Enjoy! So, I don’t really care what you call this cake. Anytime you combine pumpkin, homemade whipped cream and caramel sauce? Uh-MAZE-ZA-ZING. My last BTS cake has driven almost 1,200,000 visitors to Lemon Sugar, and is among one of my most requested desserts in my inner circle. Inner circle? That means my family. I don’t know why I called them my inner circle. I’m clearly not Miley Cyrus. I…

No-Crack Cheesecake
Best cheesecake ever. It doesn’t crack. It’s crumbly but not dry. It has a THICK, buttery graham cracker crust. It’s the best. The end. Seriously. So. good. I don’t have a lot of words about this. I’ve made cheesecake a number of times, but I’ve never shared my go-to recipe with you all, which frankly seems like a crime against humanity. Or against lemon-sugarers, at least.

Key Largo: Onion Crusted Yellowtail & Key Lime Pie
This is a contributed post as a special feature to Lemon-Sugar.com. It includes a contributed recipe from Chef Bobby Stoky, but also a Lemon Sugar original: Key Lime Pie! Enjoy! The Florida Keys is home to five districts, each with their own personality and attractions that make visitors feel like they are a world away. Growing up around fish, Chef Bobby Stoky quickly learned how to do it all, from catching to cleaning and even cooking them. In the summers he would dive for lobster and in…

Samoa Sheet Cake
So, first – let me tell you about my weekend. Then we’ll get to this DELICIOUS Samoa Cake recipe. I took a couple of extra days off before the long Memorial Day weekend, mostly to prepare for my daughter’s birthday party and get the girls to and from dance recital and rehearsal, which this year fell on Thursday and Friday evening. NBD. Right? Yeah. So Thursday brought some (SCARY) severe weather to my part of the world, and of course that only happens when my…

Cinnamon Chip Scones
Annnnnd, I’m back. You didn’t even miss me, did you? Don’t answer that. I took a couple of months off from the old blog. I didn’t want to, but life demanded it. Lemon Sugar is like a second full-time job that I squeeze into the wee-hours of the morning, well after the sun goes down at night, and for 15-20 hours each weekend. But, I love it so it’s not going anywhere. I just had to make some adjustments, and now I’m back. With scones. I’m…

Fried Ice Cream Boats & A Football Party
YOU GUYS! How CUTE are these little fried ice cream boats? Even though it’s exactly zero degrees outside right now, these were still a welcome treat at our family gathering this weekend! It’s been a good sports year in Kansas City. Our beloved Royals (finally) won the World Series, and the Chiefs (finally) won a playoff game. My family decided to gather to celebrate the big football game, so I thought I’d share some of our quick and easy party tips with you. Ice cream…

Yellow Cake with Fudge Frosting
I almost titled this post something like, “Back to Basics: Yellow Cake with Fudge Frosting,” but then I thought that it’s not really back to basics here. Good yellow cake is not an easy thing to accomplish, so while it is a bit of a basic cake, it’s definitely not an easy one. I’ve made a hundred different recipes and varieties of yellow cake over the years, some great, some not so much. It’s been a good lesson in the science behind baking for me,…

Chocolate Dipped Cannoli Cups
I don’t like to leave my house on New Year’s Eve. I like to hunker down with my family, watch TV, eat some YUM food and make a cocktail or two with my husband. The thought of venturing out and dealing with crowds just doesn’t do it for me anymore – although I’m not sure it ever did. I love to pick a bunch of one-bite appetizers and desserts for our evening, and these cannoli cups will definitely be on the list this year. They…

Chocolate Dipped Holiday Cookies
This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #NestleHolidayBaking #CollectiveBias My daughter had a couple of friends over last weekend to play for a few hours for a “BFF Gift Exchange,” and because she’s just like her mother, she wanted to decorate for her party and create a dessert table to display our cookie creations. The girls had pizza for lunch and we made some chocolate covered cookies with fun decorations for dessert. It’s a quick and…

Throwback Thursday: One Hour Maple Pecan Cinnamon Rolls
Hi everyone! On Thursdays, I will be sharing some of my favorites from the archives of Lemon Sugar. These are still my very favorite cinnamon rolls, ever and are one of my most-pinned recipes! Wouldn’t these be great on a lazy daylight-saving morning? Enjoy! ♥ This is officially the third time I’ve used my One Hour Cinnamon Roll Dough on the blog. There was the original, the Cherry Sweet Rolls, and now these. I think these win. These are Maple Pecan Cinnamon Rolls, and they’re fabulous. Oh…
