2015 Roundup
It’s been a great year here at Lemon Sugar. Lots of new recipes, lots of new opportunities, the c-word (cookbook!) is floating around, and even though I had a busy year outside the blog, I still managed to keep it a priority and watch it grow. I can’t thank you all enough for your support, your comments, your likes, your pins, your tweets, your shares. I know that you, as readers, have EVERYTHING to do with how successful I am here, and really – a…

TUACA Mule and TUACA Root Beer Float
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of TUACA Vanilla Citrus Liqueur for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine. Today’s post is sponsored by TUACA®. Have you had it yet? TUACA® is “a vanilla citrus liqueur, a brandy, blended with natural sugar, fine spirits and vanilla essences.” Doesn’t that just SOUND amazing? You guys. It’s fantastic. And even better, it puts a delicious twist on one of my favorite drinks, the Moscow Mule. Paired with ginger beer and lemon juice, it’s a totally…

Throwback Thursday: One Hour Maple Pecan Cinnamon Rolls
Hi everyone! On Thursdays, I will be sharing some of my favorites from the archives of Lemon Sugar. These are still my very favorite cinnamon rolls, ever and are one of my most-pinned recipes! Wouldn’t these be great on a lazy daylight-saving morning? Enjoy! ♥ This is officially the third time I’ve used my One Hour Cinnamon Roll Dough on the blog. There was the original, the Cherry Sweet Rolls, and now these. I think these win. These are Maple Pecan Cinnamon Rolls, and they’re fabulous. Oh…

Summer Sauvignon Blanc Party – Part Two
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards. All opinions are 100% mine. A few weeks ago, I posted about planning a wine tasting party. Did you miss it? You can read more about it here. The party went off without a hitch, and we had a great time. The wine was delicious, the appetizers were tasty, and it was a fun night with my friends. The wine on our tasting menu consisted of: 2013 Sonoma-Cutrer Russian River Ranches Chardonnay,…

Taking a Moment for Myself
Today’s post is a little bit off topic – I’m not going to share a recipe but instead am taking an opportunity to slow things down. You all know by now that I am a bit of a worker-bee…I am at my best when I’m busy, when I have a project, when I have a to-do list. I don’t like to be idle. I do my best work under a deadline, and I crave the intensity and activity that a busy, planned-out day brings. …

A Playroom Makeover: Part 2
First things first, if you haven’t read Part 1, go back and read it now. Good? Ok. After we got all of the construction, painting and cleaning behind us, it was time to do the fun stuff – it was time to make the room look like what we’d been envisioning for almost a year now. Because we adore everything about our new pantry, we teamed up with Organized Living to give our two little girls a bright, clean & efficient play room. Their bedrooms…

#MyHomeTownGuide – Five of My Favorite Eats in Kansas City
It’s that time of year in Kansas City. Winter is slipping away, and spring is just. about. here. Suddenly 45 degrees feels balmy, and we are looking for any reason we can think of to get out of the house. Fortunately for us, KC is full, and I mean full, of fantastic restaurants and foodie hot-spots to keep our mind off of Mother Nature’s indecisiveness. Kansas City is primarily known as a barbecue town, and there’s good reason for that. In fact, two of my…

A look back at 2013
Wait, can anyone else believe that 2013 is over? Where did it go? I feel like I spent a good portion of it in the kitchen, and that’s just fine by me. I hope you’ve enjoyed the goodies I’ve shared with you over the past twelve months. I know I have. I love to look back at the end of the year and see what you guys liked the best. I have to say, your favorites this year are some of mine, too. Take…

One Hour Maple Pecan Cinnamon Rolls
This is officially the third time I’ve used my One Hour Cinnamon Roll Dough on the blog. There was the original, the Cherry Sweet Rolls, and now these. I think these win. These are Maple Pecan Cinnamon Rolls, and they’re fabulous. Oh yeah- and they can be made start to finish in an hour. No big whoop. YES. ONE HOUR. CINNAMON ROLLS IN ONE HOUR, FOLKS! So today, we changed it up a bit – I added some sticky-sweet pecans to the filling, and doused…

A Beach Birthday Party
Well, I survived. I survived my first party since I’ve gone back to work in an office environment, and it was a success. Now, I didn’t cook – it was catered, I just did the baking, and I had a little help from the candy aisle at the grocery store, but somehow I pulled off a cute little beach party in the middle of November and lived to talk about it. My Madeline turned eight years old this week, and as much work as it…

30 Recipes for Fall Baking
If you’re like me, you’re starting to get a little burnt out on all of the pumpkin recipes that have appeared over the past few weeks. I am a super-pumpkin-fan myself, and even I have reached my threshold of my second-favorite-baking-ingredient ever. Any guesses what my favorite ingredient is? 🙂 Over the years, I’ve shared quite a few fall-inspired recipes here at Lemon Sugar, and every fall I try to post a fall-roundup for you all so you can see everything in one place. These…

Black & White Monster Cookies
So, tonight we all got home really late because our lives are insane right now. I was all set to pull the “rotisserie chicken and vegetables” thing for dinner when my pitifully hayfevered-up seven year old begged me for mashed potatoes and gravy to eat with her chicken. She sounds so itchy and miserable that I couldn’t possibly say no to her, so there I was at 730pm whipping up a batch of mashed potatoes, all in the name of motherhood guilt or something. Yes,…
