• A Rainbow Party

Last weekend we celebrated my daughter’s and niece’s 4th birthday with a Rainbow party.  They’ve been talking about it forever, pretty much since the day after their Princess Party last year.  We were a bit hurried, especially after we ate dinner because the weather was supposed to get bad, and everyone kind of left in a mad rush to beat the storms. As usual, I focused the decoration for the party around my dessert table.  A simple white table cloth allowed the rainbow colors to…

  • Lemon Love: April Wrap-Up

Don’t you just love Roald Dahl? April was just a blur around here, it was such a busy month that I’m not sure how I kept up!  Here’s a quick wrap up of my month:

  • Superbowl Recipe Roundup

Can you believe we’re already gearing up for Super Bowl Sunday?   My team is nowhere near Super Bowl status (ever), but it’s really about the parties and the commercials anyway, isn’t it?

  • 25 Amazing Cupcake Recipes

I get many emails from readers every day, and 90 percent of them ask me one of two questions:  1) Can I make a gluten/allergy/fat/sugar/oil/butter/dairy free version of xyz recipe?  If so, how?  And two:  I have an event coming up and I need to make a dessert – what would you suggest? So, the answers are: 1) yes, but I’ve never done it so I can’t vouch for results and 2) um, all of them?

  • Erin’s favorite recipes from 2012

As we say goodbye to 2012, it’s fun to reflect on everything that happened during the year.  My family had a wonderful year full of blessings.  We celebrated my parent’s 35th wedding anniversary in May.  We traveled to the beach with our extended family, filling up three beach houses.  My oldest daughter completed Kindergarten and started 1st grade.  We coached T-ball, we celebrated 1st birthdays for my niece and nephew, and found out my brother and sister are expecting again.  We attended dance recitals, hosted…

  • Your favorite posts of 2012 and a giveaway!

As 2012 comes to a close, I have to say that I feel like celebrating.  Lemon Sugar has grown so much this year – and I have to thank you, my readers, for your part in that.  If you weren’t helping to spread the word by sharing on social media, pinning on Pinterest, or tweeting on Twitter, my little food blog wouldn’t have grown the way it has. So, thank you.  From the bottom of my heart.  To my family, who just reads because I…

  • Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of my readers – wishing you a joyful, safe and peaceful day with friends and family.  From the bottom of my heart, thanks for making my 2012 a great one. ♥erin

  • A Moment of Silence

Tonight, instead of my normal weekend post, I’m standing with countless other bloggers in solidarity and support, in memory and in prayer for those who lost their lives and their families and friends on Friday morning. I’m sad.  Really, really sad. I’m sad for everyone directly touched by the tragedy.  I’m sad for me.  I’m sad for my girls. I’m just sad. My way of honoring the memory of those babies is to do what kids do best – finding joy and hope in the…

  • Almond Snowball Cookies

I’m back!  It’s been a long couple of weeks, starting with my daughter’s 7th birthday party, then Thanksgiving, then a week of refreshing the look here at Lemon Sugar.  Throw in a couple of cases of bronchitis and let’s just say I haven’t had much time to spend in the kitchen.

  • Welcome to the all new Lemon Sugar!

I’ve been working toward this day for quite a long time now.  I’ve finally updated, upgraded and freshened things up here at Lemon Sugar. Hopefully you’ll find an easier-t0-navigate site with all of the same great recipes, photos and stories about my hectic life.  Have a look around, and let me know what you think. We still have a few areas of the site that are under construction, namely the recipe index and some of the extra galleries and goodies I share in my sidebar…

  • Peppermint Bark Cookies

I know, I know, it’s too early for Holiday cookies, right?  Of course, I’m not one of those who starts listening to Christmas music on Halloween, so it definitely seems early to me.  But, I had an awesome reason for dusting off my holiday cookie “must-make” list – I am participating in a bake along with some amazing bloggers.  Skip to my Lou, A Southern Fairytale and According to Kelly are hosting the event, and if you’re already making plans for the holidays, these ladies…

  • Nutella Cupcakes

I’ve had one of those weeks.  Well, actually, I’ve had one of those months.  You know, when you can’t get ahead, everything is a crazy mess, your to-do list is twice as long as usual, your kids are sick and on fall break, AND your husband has to travel for work?  Yes, I’ve had that kind of month. I haven’t had a lot of time for baking this month, I haven’t really even had much time to go to the grocery store. As a result,…
